Orion has some exciting things happening as they kick-start their Integrated Asset Management project. There is some challenging work ahead, and as the Technical Writer for the project on a 2 year-fixed term contract, you’ll be a key part of the project’s success. As our Technical Writer (IAM), you will create accurate and comprehensive technical (asset management) documentation while being able to organise content for a wide and diverse audience. A key aspect of this role is the collaboration you’ll create with wider business and end users within the IAM programme.   • Develop comprehensive asset management documentation for the IAM’s processes while collaborating with asset managers
  • Engage with IAM’s asset management, network development, electrical engineering and network operations team
  • Produce technical documentation for electrical distribution networks, electrical engineering principles and network operations
  • Implement version control for IAM’s technical documentation, managing repositories to ensure access the latest versions
  • Maintain consistent writing style, formatting and terminology across IAM’s technical documentation
  • Provide training sessions to internal IAM teams on documentation best practices
About you
  • Minimum 5 years’ experience as a Technical Writer with a relevant degree or proven experience within a utility or asset management field
  • Ability to convey complex technical information to a wide and intended audience
  • Strong attention to detail ensuring precision and accuracy in technical documentation
  • Ability to collaborate and build excellent relationships ensuring ‘best for business’ outcomes
  • Solution and outcome focused while being comfortable with ambiguity and the ability to analyse opportunities and risks
  • Flexibility to understand and adapt to technical domains, industries and evolving technologies
