Sheet metal designer estimator

Ultra laser cutting & Fabrication Limited is a fully Accredited New Zealand owned and operated company located in Wiri , Auckland Designers & Sheet metal Estimators play an important role in the profitability of any manufacturing and Fabrication company as they are responsible for determining the total cost of a project — including time, materials, and labour while liaising with contractors to produce competitive bids for jobs, controlling costs, improving efficiencies, and impacting business growth. Skills/Qualifications: • Proficient in AutoCAD, SolidWorks, Revitt, Sigma nest, Draught sight. • Ability to analyse, interpret 2D , 3D drawings & specifications for laser cutting & Fabrication • Attention to detail. • Communication skills to interact with Customers, Suppliers, and co-workers. • Knowledge of metal fabrication processes. REQUIREMENTS • Mechanical Engineering background / experience in Engineering design preferred • Should have 2-3 years’ experience in the sheet metal Industry • Knowledge and understating in material, equipment and labour cost • Must be proficient in drafting software’s such as Solid works / Auto Cad / Draught sight and Sigma nest. • Can prepare sheet metal take-off for inclusion into estimating software, including drawing • Communicate with customers daily to request orders/provide quotations via telephone or email. and communicate any discrepancies or issues related to job to management • Ability to co-ordinate between factory and office • Meet project bid deadlines and schedules • Monitor quality standards and specification requirements and communicate any discrepancies or issues related to jobs to management. • Knowledge in the Fiber Laser and Brake Press operation ( but not essential ) • Help and co-ordinate with other staff. ( Office & Warehouse ) • Working hours 30 to 40 hours ( as required ) • Any other duties as assigned by management. AVERAGE REMUNERATION • Between $ 60,000 to 75,000 per year.
