We have an opportunity for you as the new Asset Management Team Leader for Waipā's Roading Network!

  • Starting Salary Range : $109,000 p/a to $118,600 p/a (plus 3% employer KiwiSaver Contribution), depending on skillset and experience. This provides opportunity for further growth as you build familiarity and confidence in the role!
  • Location : Primarily based in Te Awamutu, with flexibility to work from home or our Cambridge-based office. Free parking available.
The Position In this role, you will lead a small team in transportation asset management for the district. As a key role within the wider Transportation Department, your key duties and responsibilities will include:
  • Ownership and development of the Transportation Activity Management Plan and 3-year Transportation renewal programme.
  • Providing advice and recommendation into the development of the Council's Long Term Plan and 30-year infrastructure strategy.
  • Managing asset systems, including RAMM, to input accurate data reports for strategic decision-making.
  • Developing relationships with key stakeholders, including working closely with NZTA to maintain funding for required renewals and maintenance.
  • Managing successful renewal projects (including the full gambit - from business cases to implementation plans, from financial and risk management, to resourcing and reporting).

To Be Successful in Your Application While a tertiary level qualification in civil or transportation engineering is fundamental, along with a clean full driver's licence, our ideal candidate will have a strong background in formal asset management, project and contract management methodology. This includes the ability to demonstrate:
  • significant experience delivering asset management and civil engineering projects or work programmes.
  • excellent understanding and application of RAMM software.
  • comprehensive knowledge of road construction and resurfacing methodology and local roading regulations.
  • the ability to identify opportunities, prioritise and drive improvement.
To deliver to the requirements of the role, your people capabilities will need to come to fore. A keen customer focus, and great communication skills will allow you to engage effectively with our internal and external stakeholders, including engineering consultants and contractors. Previous management experience will also be valuable as you lead and develop the skills of your dedicated team. What's On Offer?
