Maritime Security Centre Manager - Hybrid/London OR Athens Our client is a growing technology partner to the global maritime risk and insurance markets, with an impressive and growing client base of ship owners. They are looking for a candidate to join their team as a Maritime Security Centre Manager, to support the operational delivery of state of the art service offerings. This role will be remote in the short term but moving to a hybrid role in the medium term when the company office opens in central London. As a Maritime Assistance Centre (MAC) Manager, you will oversee the operations of the MAC, a pivotal hub for maritime security and crisis management. Your role will be instrumental in ensuring the safety of client vessels and their crews by efficiently monitoring, detecting, and responding to maritime security threats and emergencies. Key Responsibilities: ● Leadership and Management:

  • Direct and lead the MAC team, fostering a cohesive and effective approach to maritime crisis management.
  • Oversee staffing, training, and professional development initiatives for team members.
● Operations Oversight:
  • Monitor and ensure the operational performance of the centre, maintaining compliance with maritime security protocols and regulatory standards.
  • Supervise the systematic execution of Ship Security Alert System (SSAS) protocols and other security measures.
● Reporting and Documentation:
  • Maintain accurate records of incidents and responses, fulfilling reporting requirements to maritime authorities.
  • Ensure all operational documentation is up-to-date and compliant.
● Crisis Response:
  • Coordinate and manage the response to maritime security incidents, ensuring timely and effective action to mitigate risks and address security threats.
● Regulatory Compliance:
  • Ensure adherence to all relevant maritime regulations and standards, including those set by the International Maritime Organization (IMO) and the International Ship and Port Facility Security (ISPS) Code.
● Stakeholder Engagement:
  • Liaise with maritime authorities, clients, and stakeholders to foster collaboration in maritime security and crisis management efforts.
Skills and Qualifications: ● Expert in delivering Ship Security Alert System [SSAS] service including regular test management and crisis response. ● Proven experience in maritime operations or security management. ● Strong leadership and team management skills. ● Excellent communication and interpersonal skills. ● Knowledge of maritime law, security protocols, and regulatory requirements. ● Ability to thrive in high-pressure situations and make critical decisions. This is a varied and interesting role for a candidate with a background in maritime operations and security. There will be occasional travel to an office based in the South West UK(once/twice per month if the candidate is based in the UK). For now this position will be remote but there will be an office opening in central London, at which point this role will become hybrid.
