We are seeking a Technical Instructor to join our professional and dynamic team, playing a key role within our Skills City operation and leading on delivery of our AWS re/Start bootcamp. With your passion for developing others, you will deliver a defined curriculum program for early career technical hires on their journey to become skilled Cloud Practitioners, SysOps Administrators, Developers or Solution Architects. This multi-modal training program combines instructor led training, lab exercises, scenario-based project sprints, and more to develop and hone Linux, Python Programming, Databases, AWS Cloud and professional developments skills. The instructor will be provided with a curriculum and teaching framework. There will also be a requirement to create new resources for the bootcamp where there is a need. Contract Duration: 14 weeks Start Date: 17 June 2024 This is a contract role open for UK based candidates for 14-week duration aligning with our cohort start date, 17th June 2024 that requires your fulltime availability during the bootcamp period where you can expect between £8000 - £10000 for the entire bootcamp delivery based on your skillset and experience. Key Responsibilities The key responsibilities will include, but are not limited to:

  • Delivering a defined curriculum of an internal customer facing technical education program.
  • Ensuring student engagement per program requirements.
  • Have strong knowledge of Foundational Computing concepts, Linux OS (CLI), Bash, Python programming, Relational Databases/SQL, Computer Networking and Security and AWS Cloud.
  • Be able to write, edit and debug code during a session
  • Have 1-2 years of experience in the required tech stacks (preferably in industry or teaching)
  • Supporting with the administering of LMS tasks such as scheduling sessions, assessing participants and creating/editing instructor resources
  • Working closely with the learning strategy team to preserve a consistent program experience for all learners through a defined curriculum, milestones, and interactions
  • Providing content and class feedback to the learning strategy team to drive improvements
  • Monitor progress and provide mentoring to students regularly and when required.
  • Be passionate about creating a high-quality learning experience for our bootcamp attendees
  • Build a vibrant community that supports and motivates students
  • Be passionate about developing talent across all backgrounds to drive up economic and social mobility.
  • Be willing to support with other tasks as and when required.
Essential Skills
  • The successful candidate will have the following qualifications and essential skills:
  • Minimum of 2 years’ experience in a similar role
  • AWS certified Solutions Architect – Associate or higher
  • Coding experience
  • Microsoft proficient
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Time management
  • Team work
  • Project development experience
  • Excellent stand–up delivery and facilitation skills and strong “stage presence” that drives key learning outcomes and motivates application of knowledge beyond the classroom.
  • Ability to self-learn new skills and keep tech skills updated
  • Ability to deliver engaging teaching and learning sessions remotely
