About our client: A leading manufacturer in the plastics industry, specialising in technical injection moulding and thermoforming. Our client is committed to delivering high-quality products through innovation and advanced manufacturing processes. They are seeking a skilled and experienced Plastics Moulding Technician & Die Setter to join their team. Role Overview: The Plastics Moulding Technician & Die Setter plays a critical role in the manufacturing process, responsible for setting up and maintaining plastic injection moulding machines to ensure optimal production efficiency and product quality. This role requires meticulous attention to detail, strong technical skills, and a commitment to safety and quality standards. Key Responsibilities: * Set up plastic injection moulding machines according to production requirements, including installing moulds, adjusting machine settings, and configuring auxiliary equipment. * Conduct machine trials to ensure proper functioning and make necessary adjustments to achieve desired product specifications. * Perform die setting and changeover procedures efficiently to minimise downtime and maintain production schedules. * Safely remove and install moulds, dies, and related components, following standard operating procedures and safety protocols. * Monitor production processes and inspect finished products to ensure adherence to quality standards and specifications. * Troubleshoot and address any issues related to moulding processes, such as defects or dimensional inaccuracies. * Conduct routine maintenance tasks on moulding machines and equipment to ensure optimal performance and prevent breakdowns. * Diagnose and troubleshoot mechanical problems, performing repairs or coordinating with maintenance staff as needed. * Maintain accurate records of machine settings, production data, and quality inspections. * Generate reports on production efficiency, downtime, and quality metrics to identify areas for improvement. * Adhere to all safety protocols and procedures to ensure a safe working environment for yourself and your team members. * Comply with regulatory requirements and company policies related to manufacturing operations and environmental health and safety. Qualifications and Skills: * Proven experience as a plastics moulding technician or die setter in a manufacturing environment. * Proficiency in setting up and operating plastic injection moulding machines, including knowledge of machine controls and adjustment techniques. * Experience working with plastic materials such as PP and HDPE to engineering materials. * Strong mechanical aptitude and problem-solving skills, with the ability to troubleshoot and resolve issues efficiently. * Attention to detail and quality, with a commitment to producing accurate and defect-free products. * Excellent communication skills and the ability to work effectively in a team environment. * Knowledge of safety procedures and regulations related to manufacturing operations. * Flexibility to work various shifts and overtime as needed to support production schedules.
