Network Transformation Lead (Operations)
Due to continued growth, we have created a NetworkTransformation Lead role within Operations reporting directly to our Head ofOperations. You will play a key role in the deployment of our operational solutionsto ensure we are well prepared for a changing energy environment and enable atransition to a low carbon future with an important focus on our network. As the third largest electricity distribution network in NewZealand, we cover remote rural areas, regional towns, and the city of Christchurch. The role- Refine the Orion network transformation roadmap whilemaintaining oversight of various operational strategies
- Develop and present business cases for networktransformation projects and support our research, development and pilotprogramme works
- Lead and support Orion’s participation in industry andpublic forums in relation to distribution system and network operations andnetwork transformation
- Contribute to the design of systems and processes toprovide visibility and understanding of the network operation and performance
- Assist in Orion progressing toward a DistributedSystem Operator (DSO) and contribute to standardising Distributed EnergyResources (DER) requirements
- You’ll come with a depth of leadership experience inan electricity network operations environment with the relevant qualificationin Power Engineering
- Ability to work at a high strategic level tounderstand and apply Orion’s strategic objectives
- A strong understanding of the electricity supplyindustry – particularly distribution)
- Proven track record in developing innovative solutionsthrough new ways of doing things with a ‘big picture’ approach
- Experience in writing business cases, piloting programs,research and development
- Ability to connect across the business with stronginfluencing skills
- Flexible working arrangements, and flexiblelocations with our Head office in Burnside and satellite offices in Rollestonand Ferrymead
