Head of Product Development [Home Appliances]

We are currently looking for a Head of Product Development for a leading start up in the Retail Home Appliances industry in Malaysia. This position requires your urgent attention.

• Team size: Up to 5 headcounts
• Based in Selangor

• Identify and assess potential suppliers and manufacturers.
• Establish strong relationships with suppliers and negotiate favorable terms.
• Collaborate with procurement and supply chain teams for effective supplier management
• Develop and execute product testing plans covering performance, durability, and safety.
• Manage both internal and external testing labs to conduct thorough product evaluations.
• Analyze test results and drive necessary product enhancements based on findings.
• Continuously evaluate existing products for performance and design improvements.
• Lead cross-functional teams to implement enhancements and cost optimization initiatives.
• Coordinate with engineering teams to ensure seamless implementation of product changes.
• Develop project plans and timelines for product development initiatives.
• Monitor project progress and address potential bottlenecks to ensure timely execution.
• Coordinate efforts across internal teams to align with project objectives.
• Create and maintain detailed product documentation, including technical specifications.
• Work closely with engineering and design teams to update product documentation.
• Collaborate with marketing to effectively communicate product features to customers.

• Bachelor's degree in Engineering or a related field is required.
• Thorough understanding of market trends, customer preferences, and industry standards within the home appliances sector.
• Proficient in product testing methodologies, ensuring quality assurance, and meeting compliance requirements.
• Demonstrated expertise in project management.
