The role We have an exciting opportunity for a Bid Writer to join our team. As the Bid Writer, you will be responsible for delivering persuasive and compelling content for exciting and challenging projects across New Zealand. As part of the Bid Writing team, you will be supporting the Bid Writer Manager in the creation, maintenance, and continuous improvement of high-quality attribute material. You thrive on the art and science of bid writing. You are self-driven, can work autonomously, are adaptable, and can deliver proposals on time and to a high standard. Using a solutions-oriented and collaborative approach, you are apt at engaging multiple stakeholders. This role is a fixed-term contract for 12-15 months to cover maternity leave, with the potential to become a permanent position. It can be based in one of our offices in Auckland, Tauranga, Wellington, Christchurch, or a work from home arrangement. Duties and responsibilities You will be responsible for a broad range of activities, including creating non-price content and supporting business development and marketing activities to ensure the company's continued success.

  • Prepare, coordinate, and deliver high-quality proposals for construction projects across New Zealand
  • Create, maintain, and continuously improve the Attribute Library/Database, including general company attributes, executive summaries, project profiles, case studies, and tender CVs
  • Prepare quality presentations for internal and external audiences
  • Adhere to the company brand and style guide and proposal style guide
  • Complete multiple tasks with conflicting deadlines while maintaining quality standards
  • Support the Marketing team to peer review and, where necessary, write marketing content
  • Contribute towards productivity and quality improvement initiatives
Requirements
  • Proven experience in bid writing and an ability to translate operational information into clear, persuasive, compelling, and customer-focused content. 
  • Knowledge and experience within a bid delivery team
  • An eye for design to ensure submissions meet brand guidelines
  • The ability to juggle multiple projects simultaneously, effectively prioritise tasks, meet deadlines, and deliver quality outputs
  • Intermediate to advanced skills and experience using MS Office. Adobe Creative software is desirable but not essential. Able to pick and use new software applications that improve productivity and performance.
