Purpose of the position The role is to support and implement process control solutions that would enhance plant reliability and efficiency improvement for Linde plants and equipment. The role includes maintenance, upgrades and troubleshooting support of existing hardware, software of process automation systems at the Remote Operating Centre as well as on production sites Principal responsibilities
  • Provide day to day support for the ROC Engineers to resolve and troubleshoot process automation related matters and provide improvement solutions to enhance plant reliability and efficiency.
  • Identify shortcomings in existing regulatory control system and implement improvement
  • Support process automation initiatives ie linear model predictive control (LMPC), Auto-startup system (AST), Alarm Management, Alarm Trip Response (ATR) and other advance automation system
  • Provide technical and commissioning support for the new projects related to IPC activities especially for those ROC plants in the region as and when deemed required.
  • Closely work with site control and instrument engineers to improve control system reliability and support troubleshooting
  • Support site teams to develop appropriate plant contingency plans related to process automation.

Required key skills (functional/technical)
  • Have strong knowledge of Siemens S5, S7 and PCS7 control system
  • Have strong knowledge of Wonderware InTouch
  • Have some knowledge of other control systems, such as Yokogawa, Honeywell and Foxboro
  • Have excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Computer literate (Windows/Office)
  • Strong analytical skills
  • Ability to deliver effective, innovative solution
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills
  • Fluent English and local language
Required qualifications/experience
  • Minimum of 5 years' experience in process control
  • University degree in Chemical, Electrical, Electronical or Instrument and Process Control Engineering.
  • Experience in process plant operation role will be an added advantage
