OBJECTIVES OF THE PROGRAMME As part of the overall Business Operation Support to the Regional Office, the Operation and Service Support Unit ensures the provision of infrastructure and support services in the area of property management, construction and security of Regional Office and WC Offices, office furniture, supplies and equipment, inventory management system, travel support and conferences, meetings privileges & immunities, concession contracts and contacts with local Host Government Authorities. DESCRIPTION OF DUTIES The incumbent will perform the following duties: 1.Receive, verifies and check, all incoming consignments, including all kind of equipmentin accordance with EMRO standards, as well as, comparing delivery details with purchase orders and suppliers' invoices, notifies PSS of their arrival. 2. Act as a custodian for all supplies and equipment kept in the store, ensuring that they are well preserved, maintained and safeguarded until properly requisitioned. 3. Prepare receiving reports and notify supervisors of goods delivered in damaged condition, in faulty condition, missing or supplies delivered in less quantities than ordered. 4. Organize space for the storage of nonexpendable goods and expendable supplies and ensure the cleanliness of the storage area. 5. Coordinate the distribution of goods and supplies with the warehouse assistants. 6. Periodically check buffer stock levels of all items in the stores to ensure that re-ordering/replenishment of items takes place at appropriate times. 7. Participate in conducting physical verification of Regional Office stores. 8. Assist in the disposal process through conducting periodical physical inspection of items in stock and makes recommendations to the supervisors for the disposal of the surplus, obsolete, old and slow-moving items and displaying the items for auction. 9. Perform any other incident related tasks requested by supervisors. REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS Education Essential : Completion of secondary education combined with further training in office administration and stores management. Desirable : Additional relevant higher education. Experience Essential : At least 3 years of relevant practical experience in administrative work and stores management. Desirable : Some experience in WHO, with a good knowledge of administrative and financial rules and regulations, procedures and practices of an organization in the UN system Skills WHO manual and WHO IPSAS manual SOPs related to fixed assets and inventory management Service Oriented WHO Competencies Teamwork Respecting and promoting individual and cultural differences Communication Knowing and managing yourself Producing results Use of Language Skills Essential : Very good knowledge of English. Very good knowledge of Arabic. Other Considerations (e.g. Physical Workplace Condition, if other than normal office environment; IT Skills; etc.) - Very good knowledge of Microsoft Office applications. - Ability to operate Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP)/Oracle systems an asset. REMUNERATION WHO offers staff in the General Services category an attractive remuneration package, which for the above position includes an annual net base salary starting at USD 12,565 (subject to mandatory deductions for pension contributions and health insurance, as applicable) and 30 days of annual leave.
