Full-time, Monday to Friday, 10:00am-6:00pmHybrid role (home, community, and office), based out of Pacekids’ North office (808 55th Ave NE Calgary, AB)We are looking to hire an Occupational Therapist to work with our Community and In-Home team. We work with families throughout Calgary; the successful candidate is required to drive and have access to a reliable vehicle to drive to/from and between family homes.What We OfferPaid flexible sick and personal time for all staff, accrued at 5.38% of hours workedEmployer-paid health and paramedical benefits for full-time employeesRRSP matching, membership/insurance allowance, and/or Professional Development allowancePaid observance of 13 holidays3 weeks annual paid vacationPaid mileageSupport for professional development including in-house learning and developmentResponsibilitiesCoaching with families via in person (in home or on site) and virtual visits, providing appropriate strategies and recommendations for a child’s in-home/community focused programmingConducting screenings of preschool and school-aged children using formal and/or informal assessmentsDeveloping functional, multidisciplinary goals and plans that promote positive child development and parent education and empowermentMonitoring and updating program plans and participating in meetings with the multidisciplinary team and familiesCollaborating with families and multidisciplinary team members to target goals in a variety of settings (i.e., community and/or in-home)Modifying strategies accordingly to meet the varied needs of the children, families, and other members of their serviceteamProviding session summary reports and maintaining documentation to meet both the standards of Alberta College of Occupational Therapists and Pacekids’ practicesWorking collaboratively as part of the Pacekids’ OT team, following agreed to professional practices and proceduresProviding education and training to Pacekids’ staffEnsuring all hour tracking, documentation, and filing is appropriately completedDocumenting and adhering to any existing and new policies and procedures to ensure continuity throughout Pacekids ProgramsMaintaining and managing a caseloadWorking with the team to address any concerns and improve processes and proceduresCommitment to the values outlined by Pacekids – working to create a positive and respectful workplace cultureWhat You BringMaster’s Degree (or equivalent) in Occupational TherapyRegistered member, in good standing, with the Alberta College of Occupational Therapists (ACOT), or in the process of registeringCurrent professional liability insuranceCurrent Alberta driver’s license or ability to obtainAccess to a vehicle during work hours and willingness to drive to various parts of the city of CalgaryExperience working with preschool and school-aged children with diverse needsProficiency in the English language, both written and verbalDemonstrated ability to work independently, with an emphasis on self-initiative, patience, maturity, and tactDiscretion and ability to maintain confidentiality at all timesDemonstrated ability to communicate and liaise with families and other professionals in fostering a team atmosphereExcellent interpersonal skills to work effectively with clients, families, and staffExceptional organizational skillsFlexibility is essential given the variety of children’s abilities, family needs, and conditionsAvailability on weekdays and weeknight evenings until 6:00pmClear Criminal Record Check with Vulnerable Sector Check and Child Intervention Record CheckPacekids Programs is a charitable organization that empowers children with diverse needs and their families through excellence in therapy, education, and play.
