The Opportunity You will be responsible for the management of Kotuku Dairy Unit and will manage the day-to-day operations of the farm whilst working closely with the Business Manager to deliver quality results. You will be responsible for: • Day-to-day management of dairy operations • Leading, coaching and mentoring your team • Organising logistics and maintaining accurate data • Managing risks and solving problems as they arise You’ll have the full support of a Business Manager to help you settle into the role and assist in any areas where it’s needed such as financial reporting, planning, or pasture management. We also have a robust health and safety regime at Pāmu, and have well maintained, up to date farm equipment that you’ll be able to use. We are looking to have someone start with us in the new season, so around 1 June 2024. The Farm Kotuku Dairy Unit is part of Pāmu’s Weka Complex, located 10 minutes from Lake Brunner. We milk 930 cows in a 60-bail rotary cow shed with ACRs. The farm is a humped and hollowed terrain of 500ha with 471ha effective. About You You will need to have excellent leadership capability, a willingness to learn new systems and you’ll value the same things we do people, animals, and the environment. You will also have: ·Strong dairy farming experience ·Proven leadership and stakeholder management skills ·Excellent communication skills ·Ability to use farm management technology systems and record keeping equipment. ·Effective time and people management skills ·First class attitude to Health and Safety, Animal Welfare and Environmental Management ·Current and full NZ drivers licence We use ag tech such as Farmax and FarmIQ so familiarity with those software packages would be helpful but is not required.
