We currently have an exciting opportunity within Specialised Solutions (C&IB) as  Head of Merchant & Payments Distribution. We spoke with our GM - Working Capital & Transactional Banking, and she let us know the following about the tūranga (role): What are some key responsibilities of the tūranga?
  • Developing strategic relationships with key stakeholders including product partners, pricing teams, Merchant Acquiring and Marketing. and our distribution teams, to ensure we drive suitable outcomes for our customers.
  • Leading and influencing the Merchant Sales and Service Hub team and our frontline distribution teams to ensure growth and retention of customers and operational tasks and initiatives are delivered effectively and consistently across Partnership Banking and C&IB.
  • Designing and leading the sales strategy including development and maintenance of a national and regional sales funnel for Merchants multi-channel payment acceptance needs.
  • Supporting the alignment between all specialist sectors within Specialised Solutions & CIB to align to growth of Merchant Acquiring in all channels.

What specific experience would be beneficial? As a highly skilled and respected leader, with extensive experience in financial services (ideally from a customer facing, sales and/or service role) you will be able to effectively coach, develop, inspire, and motivate a team to deliver exceptional service and results. What attributes will this person display in order to be successful in this tūranga? To be successful in this role, you will also have:
  • A demonstrated track record leading large and diverse high performing teams to achieve challenging objectives.
  • Strong strategic and tactical planning capabilities, with a proven ability to execute and achieve results.
  • Proven ability to influence across the organisation at all levels and effectively manage competing stakeholder interest to ensure the best outcome for all.
  • Experience within the Digital & Transactional payments specialised fields (desirable)
