Oasis was established by NICS/Oasis in 2018 and has a growing student body of about 300 students on a 12-acre purpose-built campus near the Malaysian capital of Kuala Lumpur. Job Summary: Motivated by a love for students, create a learning environment to support the educational needs, abilities, and potential for each student. The ILS runs all operations of the Learning Lab (library) at OIS. The Information Literacy Specialist is responsible for the overall vision and direction of the Learning Lab services K4 - 12 to ensure that the library consistently supports a 21st-century curriculum and learning environment. The information literacy specialist is responsible for communication of major library programmatic changes to stakeholders in the community. This role is also responsible to align and develop coherence of research skills and information literacy skills taught at all grade levels. The Information Literacy Specialist will run the OIS Learning Lab (library) which includes the overall managing, ordering, and cataloguing of books and audio/visual equipment as well as managing those individuals assigned to work in the Learning Lab. Additional responsibilities include teaching each elementary class one period per week and NorthStar Academy Online Supervisor. The Information Literacy Specialist is responsible for managing Learning Lab databases to help facilitate cataloging and managing community check-in and check-out of resources. Copywriting and graphic design as needed. General Responsibilities: Oversee all library operations. BASIC TEACHER EXPECTATIONS These are non-negotiable tasks required of teachers for the school and classroom to operate effectively. All teachers at OIS are expected to: Act in accordance with the school’s mission and values; Comply with all policies and procedures; Plan and prepare properly for instruction (including submitting lesson plans and designing curriculum); Maintain a learning environment that encourages learning; Uphold professional standards of appearance, punctuality, courtesy, and discretion; Carry out all co-curricular responsibilities, including: leading programs and events, assigned supervision duties (lunch, playground, etc); and Maintain professional credentials and/or certification, including: applicable educator licensure, Google Certified Educator Level 1, and Apple Teacher.
