The CNC Lead is responsible for ensuring the efficient operation of CNC machines in a manufacturing environment. They oversee a team of CNC operators, ensuring that production schedules are met, quality standards are maintained, and safety protocols are followed. Key Responsibilities:
  • Supervision: Lead and supervise a team of CNC operators, providing guidance and support as needed.
  • Programming: Develop and review CNC programs to ensure accuracy and efficiency in machining processes.
  • Setup: Assist with setting up CNC machines, including loading materials, selecting tools, and configuring machine settings.
  • Troubleshooting: Identify and troubleshoot issues with CNC machines, tools, or programs to minimize downtime and maintain productivity.
  • Quality Control: Monitor the quality of machined parts, inspecting workpieces to ensure they meet specifications and tolerances.
  • Maintenance: Coordinate regular maintenance and repairs of CNC machines to keep them in optimal working condition.
  • Training: Provide training to CNC operators on machine operation, programming, and safety procedures.
  • Documentation: Maintain accurate records of production activities, including machine settings, tool changes, and inspection results.
  • Process Improvement: Identify opportunities for process optimization and efficiency improvements in CNC machining operations.
  • Safety: Enforce safety protocols and regulations to ensure a safe working environment for all employees.
Qualifications:
  • Previous experience working with CNC machines in a manufacturing environment.
  • Proficiency in CNC programming and setup.
  • Strong troubleshooting skills and mechanical aptitude.
  • Excellent attention to detail and quality standards.
  • Leadership abilities with the capability to motivate and mentor team members.
  • Knowledge of safety regulations and procedures.
  • Effective communication skills, both verbal and written.
  • Ability to work well under pressure and meet tight deadlines.
Education:
  • Bachelor's Degree or equivalent required.
  • Additional technical training or certification in CNC machining is often preferred.
