Full job description
The CNC Lead is responsible for ensuring the efficient operation of CNC machines in a manufacturing environment. They oversee a team of CNC operators, ensuring that production schedules are met, quality standards are maintained, and safety protocols are followed. Key Responsibilities:- Supervision: Lead and supervise a team of CNC operators, providing guidance and support as needed.
- Programming: Develop and review CNC programs to ensure accuracy and efficiency in machining processes.
- Setup: Assist with setting up CNC machines, including loading materials, selecting tools, and configuring machine settings.
- Troubleshooting: Identify and troubleshoot issues with CNC machines, tools, or programs to minimize downtime and maintain productivity.
- Quality Control: Monitor the quality of machined parts, inspecting workpieces to ensure they meet specifications and tolerances.
- Maintenance: Coordinate regular maintenance and repairs of CNC machines to keep them in optimal working condition.
- Training: Provide training to CNC operators on machine operation, programming, and safety procedures.
- Documentation: Maintain accurate records of production activities, including machine settings, tool changes, and inspection results.
- Process Improvement: Identify opportunities for process optimization and efficiency improvements in CNC machining operations.
- Safety: Enforce safety protocols and regulations to ensure a safe working environment for all employees.
- Previous experience working with CNC machines in a manufacturing environment.
- Proficiency in CNC programming and setup.
- Strong troubleshooting skills and mechanical aptitude.
- Excellent attention to detail and quality standards.
- Leadership abilities with the capability to motivate and mentor team members.
- Knowledge of safety regulations and procedures.
- Effective communication skills, both verbal and written.
- Ability to work well under pressure and meet tight deadlines.
- Bachelor's Degree or equivalent required.
- Additional technical training or certification in CNC machining is often preferred.
