Mobility Digital Designer - Alias Designer

In 2023 Technicon Design opened up their latest Design Studio situated in Chennai, India to cater for Automotive project work within our vast Design services specialty sector. We are currently working with an associated Mobility client in delivering the designs for future transportation requirements – and subsequently are looking for a Digital Designer within Class A / CAS surfacing development to work within the creation of our mobility products. Role Requirements: Digital Designer/sculptor - Class A / CAS development for final releases ensuring design vision. Be competent in generating complex and high quality digital automotive surface models according to designer specifications from sketches, renderings, concept designs and scan data. Create & Develop surface data according to packaging information and technical specifications. Ensure quality standards are achieved Automotive surfaces range from early concept to production Class-A level Work cross functionally together with engineering, sourcing and vendor partners to incorporate all feasibility criteria Generate and verify a surface model for release for tool, provide feedback reports and action plan for the same Generate feedback mechanisms of new and existing data to present and review current data models with management Leads program surface progression of Design and surface expert evaluation Leads cross-system surface execution to ensure full system surface compatibility with A surface excellence Confirms all program surface interfaces are "Designed-in-Context" to a coordinated data set including supplier data Develops and maintains a coordinated Class A surface database and required changes In the database system Maintain program product structure and part history in database release system to accurately represent evolution of design and change control Facilitate program surface progression through the theme feasibility process. Develop and assist Class A Surface in the delivery of feasible math surfaces aligned with program milestones requirements that delivers design intent Develop Surfaces necessary to support the theme and feasibility development process up to and including final Class A production prove-out and tooling release. It is anticipated that applicants will possess around 4 - 8 years’ experience of having worked on the designs for the mobility sector – 2 Wheel, Automotive, Aviation or similar. Software Skills Required: Alias SubD Blender Rhino Catia Must define and drive the attention to detail, flush, gap fit and finish with tolerances Strong ability to create production math models (i.e. die pulls, draft angles, stitching, part breakups, etc.) defining & using high tolerance specifications. Possess expertise in rapid prototyping, Surfacing Class A, Surfacing Class B, Animation and Alias Additional Information: This position is advertised as being based On-Site, rather than Remote working – situated in Chennai, India.
