What This Position is All About This individual is responsible for managing the Business Analytics practice for the Marketing function at Saks India. The role will directly serve Saks Marketing/Media leaders through executive reporting, insight generation, and ad hoc analysis to solve business problems. The role will report directly to the Director - Marketing Analytics in India and communicate with senior leaders in the Business Units across geographies. This managerial role is key in building the Business Analytics team and will serve as a liaison between the North American Analytics and India Analytics teams. Support areas will span Executive Reporting, Customer KPI Dashboard, International Sales Analyses, Segmentation and CRM, Analytics Production Support, Acquisition and retention strategies, Loyalty program, and more. In this role, the manager will be responsible for idea generation, roadmap management and driving cross-business unit efficiencies. The manager will play a key role in building out the Analytics Tech roadmap as it relates to automating the existing reporting, new data exploration as needed and operationalizing customer-facing marketing programs. He/She would be creating longitudinal behavior data stores for customers and act as the analytics expert behind Saks's Omni channel data architecture. The Business Analytics team will focus on providing best-in-class support to multiple stakeholder groups by analyzing gaps/opportunities, managing priorities through effective communication, and business benefit estimation. The team will also need to be familiar with a wide range of tech stack to effectively leverage all critical data sources. As the manager, Business Analytics, you will: Manage groups of data analytics professionals that use business data and statistical methods to provide insight into business performance. Suggest improvement areas and methods to drive top-line growth. Implement analytical approaches, and methodologies to assist in the interpretation of results. Create effective presentations/reports to management for decision-making and strategic planning. The Business Analytics practice at Saks India would have two internal functions - Business Intelligence & Business Insights. You will develop these capabilities by building high-performing teams, and continue to support as a technical mentor on the architecture/design for reporting frameworks, with an objective to deliver error-free, timely, actionable intelligence into business performance. You, along with the team will be responsible for
- Creating end-to-end automated reporting capabilities, including supporting data engineering needs required for intermediary data transformations, creation of automation frameworks to run these regular reporting initiatives with zero manual intervention.
- Become subject matter experts on a variety of data types, specializing in querying data from disparate data sources and relational databases
- Develop dynamic, self-serve, near real-time dashboards on data visualization tools like Tableau, Looker etc. The analysts in this team would be dashboard developers, with strong SQL expertise backed with programming on Python/pyspark for automation.
- Participate in the strategic development of system capabilities within business analytics teams including bespoke analyses to support a variety of business stakeholders such as loyalty, promotions, omni-channel customer journeys and business operations
- Support the Director of Business Analytics through ownership of specific stakeholder relationships and company goals
- Develop fact-based strategic and tactical business plans for proofs of concept/presentations for leadership on key strategic marketing initiatives
- Analyze business performance proactively, compare market trends and explore key opportunity areas for the business to focus on. The team would support ad-hoc analysis required by senior management by providing data-backed business insights. Along with the SQL expertise, the analysts in this team would have an eye for detail, storytelling thought process etc.
