The Division: Vela Software Head Office Team The Vela operating group of Constellation Software Inc is a portfolio of vertical market enterprise software companies. Vela acquires independently managed software companies around the world, providing them with the strategic guidance and financial security they need to become leaders within their respective markets. The Position Responsibilities Vela is looking for an M&A Data Analyst to work as a part of its M&A, Deal Sourcing, and Strategy team. This is an internally facing role and the selected professional shall be responsible for:

  • Interpreting data, analyzing results, and preparing detailed weekly, monthly, and quarterly M&A and deal sourcing reports being distributed to senior M&A leadership within the organization.
  • Database management includes, but is not limited to, Salesforce, deal sourcing tracking, headcount tracking, and investment data tracking.
  • Working with our acquisition sourcing teams to review lead ownership and lead management within Salesforce.
  • Coordinating post-acquisition updates including updating the Vela website with press releases and maintaining the corporate LinkedIn page.
  • Ad-hoc industry and company research as well as data analysis and presentations.
The successful hire will be located and work out of the Lahore/Karachi/Islamabad Office. Required Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
  • Must possess mastery in MS Excel (experience with formulas, pivot tables, data lookups, power query, creating/updating graphs for Data presentations) and familiarity with MS PowerPoint and MS Word.
  • Familiarity with Salesforce is highly preferred.
  • Bachelor's degree or higher from an accredited university. Business/Finance/Accounting or technical degrees are preferred.
  • 2+ years of work experience in accounting, finance, data analysis, or business analysis is required.
  • Strong data analysis skills, including the ability to understand and work with structured data in standard and nonstandard formats and provide preliminary error checking.
  • Demonstrated experience performing qualitative and quantitative research.
  • Strong English written and verbal communication skills are required.
  • Exposure to the software industry.
  • CFA/CPA professional designations are benefits, but not requirements.
  • Experience using Power BI is a benefit.
