Client: A subsidiary of a leading oil and gas exploration and production company. Location: EPCIC fabrication yard (TBC) in Malaysia / overseas Type of hiring: 2 years Contract Primary Objective: To oversee QA/QC management throughout the construction of the Central Processing Platform Well Head Platform and Living Quarter Platform ensuring compliance with Project Specifications and Contract requirements. Responsibilities:
- Supervising QA/QC activities of the EPCIC Contractor and Subcontractors during offshore platform construction to ensure quality safety and timely completion.
- Enforcing the Project Quality Plan and monitoring Key Performance Indicators.
- Reviewing Inspection and Test Plans Quality Plans Work Instructions Method Statements and QA/QC procedures.
- Participating in critical quality control/inspection activities during construction.
- Overseeing Welding Procedure and Welder Qualification.
- Monitoring NDT progress and reporting any backlogs.
- Addressing weld rejection rates and ensuring compliance.
- Ensuring completion of activities/punch points before hydrotest or further processing.
- Reviewing and approving piping test packs punch lists precommissioning and commissioning check sheets.
- Managing nonconformances and ensuring timely corrective actions.
- Reporting quality issues to senior QA/QC personnel and Construction Manager.
- Participating in audits and supporting the review of Vendors quality deliverables.
- Coordinating with internal teams and external stakeholders.
- Monitoring Contractors QA/QC performance and addressing quality issues.
- Liaising with Senior QA/QC personnel and reporting on Contractors quality performance.
- Verifying As Built and Final documentation.
- Bachelors degree in mechanical production welding metallurgy engineering or equivalent.
- Minimum 15 years experience in offshore Oil & Gas facility construction with at least 10 years in a similar role.
- Experience with Oil and Gas Operating Companies or EPCIC contractors involved in construction of CPP WHP or LQP.
- Strong expertise in welding fabrication NDT blasting/painting hook up and commissioning.
- Proficiency in nondestructive testing (RT UT PT MPI) and interpreting radiographs.
- Certifications in welding inspection lead auditing and ASNT level II or equivalent.
- Must be certified Welding inspector such as CSWIP 3.2 AWS SCWI or equivalent.
- Must be Certified Lead Auditor to ISO 9001:2015 or equivalent recognized by IRCA.
- Familiarity with international codes and standards such as AWS D1.1 ASME B31.3 B31.4 B31.8 ASME Section IX ASME Section V ASME Section II MR0175 and other applicable standards in Oil and Gas construction projects.
- Must be competent to interpret weld symbols fabrication drawings and isometric
- drawings.
- NACE Certified Coating Inspector Level II or equivalent preferred.
- Acquaintance with fabrication of cladded/solid Incoloy 825/625 piping is an added
- advantage.
- Good communication coordination and organisational skills with the ability to work independently.
- Demonstrated interpersonal skills and integrity.
