BAT DIGITAL BUSINESS SOLUTIONS IS LOOKING FOR A TEAM LEAD – CONTROLLERSHIP This role is part of Corporate Finance Team for Japan market as part of APMEA North DRBU, based at our GBS Centre in Malaysia.The Team Lead will support a number of key areas in the Corporate Finance team, including preparing and deliver reporting requirements relating to Balance Sheet and Cash Flow. This role will also be key in ensuring the efficiency and documentation of SOx controls operated by the team and supporting a timely and accurate month end close. Meanwhile, to assist with continuous improvement and simplification initiatives to enable the Japan cluster business to meet their objectives by providing quality general accounting analysis and overall business support for end markets. SENIORITY LEVEL: Experienced Non-Management FUNCTION: Finance, CFOM MONTHLY SALARY Starting from RM5,400 + Excellent Benefits + Bonus LOCATION: Sunway Geo Tower, Bandar Sunway ROLE POSITIONING AND OBJECTIVES REPORTING LEVEL: Individual Contributor REPORTING TO: Assistant Manager - Controllership GEOGRAPHIC SCOPE: Global, APMEA (Asia Pacific Middle East Africa) WHAT YOU WILL BE ACCOUNTABLE FOR

  • Serves as an independent contributor for a component of the Record to Report function inclusive of, General Ledger, Fixed Assets, Reconciliations, Month End Close, Statutory & Financial Reporting, Management reporting, product costing data integrity and quality.
  • Perform specific tasks allocated by the line manager in the area of integrity, quality and reasonableness of the management and statutory reporting process, which includes Quarter, Fast Close and Year End reporting exercises.
  • Assists in preparation of various submissions of the management reporting unit as well as legal entity reporting requirements as per the deadlines and with the frequency set by the IBPM process. This includes preparation, review, and posting of Financial Adjustments, investigating any major variances, reviewing of the reasonableness of the balances, and ensuring IFRS and GMAP have been properly applied in the financial reports.
  • Support in implementing internal controls to ensure accurate financial reporting
  • Participate in Continuous Improvement initiatives in order to improve efficiency & effectiveness
  • Act as a SPOC between internal Global and Regional teams to maximize standardization, efficiency and alignment of internal tools and processes.
ESSENTIAL EXPERIENCE, SKILLS AND KNOWLEDGE
  • A Bachelor Degree in Finance and Accounting OR with any professional accountancy qualification (i.e. CA/ACCA/CIMA/CPA)
  • Minimum 2-3 years of working experience in Audit, Statutory Financial Reporting, Compliance, IFRS16, SOX Controls, Finance Governance, General Accounting
  • Good exposure to MS Office – Pivot Table, vLookup
  • Equipped with relevant working Experience in FMCG or similar dynamic operating environment
  • A thorough understanding and knowledge of relevant finance tools and systems, including BPC & SAP is a plus
  • Understand the platforms and analyse reports, identify issues and challenges within reports functionalities and data
  • Able to play a part in projects and process improvements and handle a remote/virtual customer base model
  • Meticulous, analytical, proactive, and can work under pressure with minimum supervision
  • Knowledgeable in identifying risks and in implementing controls
