We are seeking an experienced Senior Payroll Specialist to join our team and oversee the payroll operations for Brazil, with additional exposure to LATAM payroll processing for Chile, Colombia and Mexico, and knowledge of US and Canada payroll systems. The ideal candidate will have in-depth knowledge of Brazilian payroll regulations and processes, as well as experience with managing payroll operations across multiple countries. As a Payroll Lead, you will be responsible for ensuring accurate and timely processing of payroll, compliance with local regulations, and maintaining employee data confidentiality. Responsibilities:
- Lead and manage the end-to-end payroll process for Brazil, ensuring accuracy and timeliness in payroll processing, tax calculations, and compliance with local labor laws and regulations.
- Maintain a strong understanding of Brazilian payroll legislation and stay up to date with changes in regulations that may impact payroll processing.
- Collaborate with internal stakeholders, such as HR and Finance, to ensure accurate employee data is maintained and transferred to the payroll system.
- Coordinate and review payroll data for accuracy, including employee information, time and attendance records, bonuses, commissions, and other compensation-related data.
- Prepare and process monthly payroll calculations, ensuring all deductions, benefits, and allowances are accurately applied.
- Address employee inquiries related to payroll, tax deductions, and other compensation matters, providing excellent customer service and timely resolutions.
- Ensure compliance with local tax regulations and reporting requirements, including the timely submission of all necessary filings, reports, and payments.
- Assist in payroll audits and ensure all necessary documentation and records are maintained for audit purposes.
- Work closely with external vendors, such as payroll service providers, tax advisors, and government authorities, to resolve issues and improve payroll processes.
- Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Business Administration, or a related field.
- Extensive experience in payroll processing and management, with specific expertise in Brazilian payroll.
- Strong knowledge of Brazilian labor laws, tax regulations, and social security contributions.
- Experience with LATAM payroll processing, particularly in Chile and Colombia, is highly desirable.
- Familiarity with US and Canada payroll systems and exposure to North American payroll regulations is a plus.
- Excellent understanding of payroll processes, including taxation, benefits administration, and statutory compliance.
- Proficient in using payroll software and systems; experience with Oracle, ADP, or similar payroll platforms is preferred.
- Fluent in English and Portuguese; knowledge of Spanish is advantageous.
