Job Description

We are looking for a Council Bin Contamination Inspector to join our team based in Taranaki, either New Plymouth or South Taranaki About the Role In this role, you will be responsible for providing an interface between WM New Zealand and the joint Taranaki District Councils. You will be working with two other contaminations inspectors, amongst a large team who deliver the council kerbside collections, auditing kerbside waste bins to help identify and implement improvement opportunities as required in the contract between WM and District Councils.  This role will be heavily involved in supporting the education and delivery of workshops and presentations through the District Councils, to aid in the reduction of waste to landfill. You will also action audits, daily maintenance, and safety checks to ensure HSEQ compliance and deliver relevant records and

Qualifications

About you To be successful in this role you will need to be a strong, people person and enjoy interacting will a wide range of people. You will have the ability to manage stakeholders and provide sound advice, you are results-driven, have strong written and verbal communication, are able to plan and organise and have the ability to work autonomously and also as part of a team. As this is predominantly an outside role, you won’t be phased by changing weather. While experience in the waste industry is preferred, a sustainability minded, future focused individual who is keen on continuous improvement in the sector will certainly be considered.
