- Working with our Legal Consultant (contracting) in relation to the provision of a broad range of legal advice to senior management and business unit leaders to ensure that business unit activities are conducted in accordance with applicable laws, risks are identified and appropriately managed, and our rights are protected.
- Providing pro-active, sound and commercially-focused legal support and advice to senior management and business unit leaders.
- Protecting our legal and financial interests and meeting our commercial objectives when negotiating, advising on, drafting and reviewing agreements.
- Supporting the Chief Legal Officer (Australia) and team in the delivery of the Legal strategic plan.
- Ensuring corporate governance rules and processes are maintained and followed.
- Enhancing and develop processes and procedures for the efficient provision of legal services.
- A degree in Law and be admitted as a solicitor
- A current legal practising certificate in NZ (or the ability to obtain one)
- At least 8 years’ PQE working in a relevant legal capacity
- Experience Identifying and implementing strategic and efficiency projects
- The ability to prioritise work in accordance with business importance; meet deadlines in short time frames and under pressure
- Strong commercial contract experience, excellent negotiation and drafting skills
- Excellent communication skills with ability to communicate to people in a range of positions
- The ability to work as part of a team, as well as autonomously
- A high level of professionalism and discretion.
