Patternist ( Fashion Retail )

Job Description

• * Discuss designs with the fashion designer to make practical compromises and implement design changes and making contingency plans as necessary to make sure that all designs are feasible for mass production.
• * Analyzing designs and determining required resources and project deadlines.
• * Determine the best layout of pattern pieces to minimize waste of material.
• * Reading and interpreting design models and blueprints.
• * Creating rough-draft templates using computer drafting software and freehand techniques.
• * Measuring, cutting, and designing patterns in the material required.
• * Double-checking the pattern dimensions and style.
• * Sending the initial pattern for a manufacture check.
• * Meeting with designers to review the final product.
• * Tweaking the pattern and filing the design.
• * Reporting back to company managers.

Job Requirements

• High school diploma or GED.
• Proven working experience as a Pattern Maker or a similar role in the  Design unit.
• Ability to use pattern making equipment and machinery.
• Understanding of modern and traditional artworks.
• Demonstrate working practice in minimizing wastage.
• Ability to meet deadlines.
• A keen eye for detail for accuracy.
• Ability to take feedback in a professional manner.
• Outstanding time management skills.
• Excellent organizational and interpersonal skills.
• Illustrate the ability to read and understand the blueprints.
• Proficient in computer software such as CAD, Adobe Illustrator, etc.
• Ability to work for long hours.
