Chief Supervisor (Resident Engineer) (f/m/d)

We are seeking a Chief Supervisor (Resident Engineer) as a part of our DB Engineering & Consulting GmbH Branch Office . The job opening is located in Cairo, Egypt , and offers exciting challenges and potential for career growth. Responsibilities:

• Overseeing and managing one lot of complex railway modernisation project including track works, civil works and installation/ modernisation of railway systems from inception to completion.
• Responsible for ensuring that project meets quality standards, is completed within the specified timeframe, and adhere to safety regulations.
• Supervise and provide expert knowledge for all engineering tasks assigned, ensuring they are executed efficiently and effectively.
• Coordinate and manage the site supervision team including up to 10 site supervisors / experts, thus ensuring quality control and quantity surveying of works on site.
• Review and monitor Contractors’ work programmes, schedules and plans for site works.
• Collaborate with project manager and other team members, Works Contractor(s), Employer and other stakeholders to understand project requirements and objective.
• Provide guidance, mentorship, and training to team members to enhance their skills and performance and oversee all health and safety related issues on the construction site.
• Organize regular meetings with the project team to provide project updates/progress and share and follow up on relevant information.
• Lead, assist and participate in site meetings with Employer and Contractor, in internal discussion sessions, telephone conferences, and team meetings.
• Provide organizational and technical guidance and on-job training to client’s employees on demand.
• Submit regular and ad-hoc progress reports to parties during various stages of the project.

• M.Sc. or B.Sc. degree in Civil Engineering or related field.
• Minimum 15 years’ experience in general project management and site supervision of railway construction/ modernization.
• Minimum 5 years’ experience in a similar position.
• Strong knowledge of engineering principles, construction methods and project management.
• Excellent leadership and team management skills.
• Previous experience with comparable projects in the Middle East region would be advantage.
• Full computer literacy.
• Excellent knowledge of English Language; Knowledge of Arabic language is an advantage.
• Driving license required in order to perform assigned duties.
