About the Company Sporting Syndicate is the largest Sports Goods manufacturers and exporters in India. Based in Jalandhar, Punjab, the company was founded in 1960 and has since been driving India's Sports Goods industry. About the role: We are looking for an experienced leader in the area of Manufacturing, to head our Manufacturing department. The department includes 5 units which operate within 20 meters from each other. Key responsibilities include:

  1. Strategic Leadership - Work on plans to efficiently strategise operations, reduce waste, increase productivity and achieve business objectives
  2. Production Planning - Ensuring that the dispatch rate is at a stable 95%
  3. Continuous Improvement - Working on continuously improving the operations through Six Sigma tools
  4. Cost Management - Direct ways towards cost reduction initiatives, while ensuring standard production quality
  5. CFTs - Enabling the best use of Cross Functioning Teams (CFTs) within the department
  6. Reporting and Analysis - Work on ways to improve the report and analysis parts of the department
  7. Leadership - Ensuring harmony in the units while maintaining discipling where required
  8. Supply Chain Management - Basic knowledge of SCM to ensure timely dispatches is required
  9. Weekly/ Monthly Reviews - Prepare monthly reports for the Senior Management and weekly for the Director of Operations
About you:
  • Strong leaderships skills and an understanding towards the importance of diplomacy are required
  • Minimum of 10 years of experience in a manufacturing related role is required
  • Knowledge of processes like Lean Manufacturing, JIT, Kanban, and tools like Six Sigma are required
  • Previous experience in PPC/ Quality is desired
  • Previous experience as a core member of a software implementation is advantageous
