Nurse Specialist – Neurosurgery Service, Starship Child Health
  • Fixed term (6-months), part-time (0.8FTE) position
Te whiwhinga mahi | The Opportunity The Paediatric Neurosurgery Service at Starship Child Health is looking for a Nurse Specialist in a Fixed term, part time (0.8FTE) capacity. The contract is for 6 months to support the team as the service grows. The Paediatric Neurosurgery team provides specialist care and treatment for infants, children and young people with disorders requiring non-invasive and invasive neurosurgical procedures. The supportive and collaborative multidisciplinary team looks after whanau admitted for planned procedures and those transferred acutely from around New Zealand. The Nurse Specialist provides education and support to whanau as well as the wider team. This role works closely with the Paed Oncology and Paed Rehabilitation services.   • Have NZ Nursing Registration with a current Annual Practicing Certificate
  • Be legally entitled to work in New Zealand
  • Have Postgraduate certificate/diploma in specialty nursing practice
  • Have minimum level 4 practice
  • Demonstrate knowledge of nursing professional development issues
  • Have at least 5 years of nursing experience
  • Have a Masters degree in nursing or health related area (Desired)
  • Have experience in a Paediatric and/or Neurosurgery setting (Desired)
