About the role We have an exciting new opportunity in our Information Services Team for an Infrastructure Engineer. Working as an Infrastructure Engineer, you will be responsible for supporting and maintaining a variety of IT solutions critical to the business operations. As an escalation point, you will be the point of contact when an issue proves difficult to resolve. Along with providing day-to-day support, you will be involved in infrastructure improvement projects. This role is traditionally based in Auckland but the opportunity to work from the Christchurch Donor Centre is available for the right candidate. Responsibilities include:
- Remote support for 800+ staff across New Zealand, ranging from standard office applications to specialised Laboratory equipment and processes
- Onsite work in Auckland or Christchurch
- Working with NZBS IT partners to support the WAN, LAN and server infrastructure
- Providing support for PC-based laboratory automation solutions and managing vendor support
- Analysing our IT environment and designing solutions to reoccurring issues
- Provide technical support for special projects in collaboration with technical specialists
- Maintaining system related documentation
- Be available for after-hours escalations when rostered
- At least 5 years' experience supporting and deploying Windows desktop environments
- Sound knowledge of Microsoft suite of tools including SCCM, Office 365, Azure
- Sound knowledge and understanding of Windows and Server OS, remote computing, networking, telephony, printing, and security concepts
- Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to troubleshoot issues over a wide range of technologies
- Experience working within an ITIL environment
- Experience with Change management processes
- Able to self-manage workload and responsibilities, able to identify priorities and escalate when needed
