We are in an exciting period of growth and seeking an experienced Development Engineer. In this role you will have the opportunity to be innovative to meet our increasing community wants and needs. Tasks and responsibilities

  • Undertaking assessment of resource and building consents
  • Ensuring public infrastructure assets are designed and built in accordance with Council's engineering standards and policies before being vested in Council
  • Guiding and mentoring staff while providing professional advice to applicants regarding engineering issues to achieve workable solutions.
Skills and experience You will have a sound understanding of how development engineering fits into the processing of resource consents under the Resource Management Act, including knowledge of geotechnical and traffic engineering, as well as:
  • Experience working in a local authority
  • Relevant tertiary Engineering qualification e.g. BE Civil, B.Technology, NZCE Civil or NZ Dip.Eng.
  • Sound understanding of roads, water, wastewater and stormwater engineering requirements
  • Experience in supervising roading and drainage construction projects
  • Working knowledge of NZS3910: Condition of Contract for Building and Civil Engineering Construction.
