Senior Mechanical Procurement Engineer

Job Description

• Lead the procurement process for mechanical equipment, materials, and services required for projects.
• Develop and implement procurement strategies to optimize cost, quality, and delivery timelines.
• Identify potential suppliers and conduct supplier evaluations and negotiations to ensure alignment with project requirements.
• Collaborate with engineering and project management teams to understand specifications and develop procurement plans accordingly.
• Manage supplier relationships to ensure contract compliance and resolve any issues arising during the procurement process.
• Oversee the issuance of purchase orders and contracts, and monitor the progress of orders to ensure on-time delivery.
• Evaluate and mitigate procurement risks, including supply chain disruptions and price fluctuations.
• Stay updated on market trends, new technologies, and industry best practices in procurement.
• Mentor and guide junior procurement staff, fostering their professional development.

Job Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering.
• Proven experience in procurement and supply chain management, with a focus on mechanical engineering projects.
• Strong knowledge of procurement processes, contract management, and negotiation techniques.
• Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to make strategic decisions.
• Effective communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build and maintain relationships with internal teams and external suppliers.
• Demonstrated leadership abilities, with experience in leading cross-functional teams.
• Proficiency in procurement software and tools.
• Certification in procurement or supply chain management is desirable.
