- Bachelors degree in Accounting or a related field with a major in accounting.
- Completion of or working towards CA/CPA certification.
- Minimum 57 years of demonstrated experience in accounting and taxation with a focus on AU tax and accounting.
- Comprehensive understanding of Australian taxation legislation including GST FBT CGT and Division 7A.
- Strong commercial acumen combined with solid technical accounting and analytical skills.
- Ability to identify issues and communicate effectively and efficiently.
- Proficiency with MYOB Xero Reckon and Quickbooks.
- Experience with Reckon APS program (desirable).
- Proficient English writing and verbal skills.
- Excellent communication skills with a focus on building strong relationships and stakeholder management.
- Strong attention to detail and ability to prioritize workload.
- Collaborative team player who recognizes the importance of fostering internal relationships across the broader clients business.
- Ability to meet productivity and turnaround metrics.
- Demonstrate tax knowledge including the preparation of tax returns and activity statements and staying updated on the latest AU tax rules.
- Prepare work papers and reconcile them to the financial statement stage.
- Prepare financial statements income tax returns and other lodgments for companies partnerships trusts and various individual businesses to a complex level including large groups and interentity reconciliations.
- Assist clients with tax planning FBT payroll tax and STP.
- Undertake business advisory projects such as budgets cash flows and management reporting.
- Ensure all documentation including work papers and client files is maintained in line with the clients compliance requirements.
