Head of Finance and Accounting
Job details
The Head of Finance and Accounting will oversee all financial operations and accounting functions within the organization. He/She will be responsible for developing financial strategies, implementing policies and procedures, and ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements. Key Responsibilities:
- Utilize accounting software, such as QuickBooks to efficiently and accurately record financial transactions, manage data, and produce financial reports.
- Act as a key point of contact for reconciling and managing financial statements, ensuring accuracy, correcting any discrepancies.
- Handle payroll processing and tax documentation, including calculating employee pay and preparing paychecks.
- Produce financial reports, including but not limited to balance sheets, income statements, and cash flow statements, to provide a comprehensive view of the organization's financial health and performance.
- Preparing company tax and financial statements, including filings with Bureau of Internal Revenue (BIR) and/or with Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) and ensuring compliance with laws and regulations.
- Collaborate with other teams to create and manage budgets, forecast revenue and expenses, and ensure the financial well-being of the organization.
- Utilize advanced knowledge and skills to keep financial records in an organized and secure manner, and to stay informed of current financial and accounting developments and regulations to ensure the organization's continued compliance with regulations and laws and financial well-being.
- Collaborate with other members of the accounting team and other departments to ensure all financial tasks are completed accurately, efficiently, and in line with the company culture.
- Provide leadership, mentoring, and coaching to the associates or other staff members, and ensure that all work adheres to the company's accounting standards.
- Continuously improve and optimize financial processes and reporting to support business growth.
- Bachelor's Degree in Accountancy, Management Accounting, Finance or a related field
- Preferably with CPA certification
- 4-5 years of experience in accounting or bookkeeping
- Strong understanding of accounting principles and proficiency with accounting software, such as QuickBooks or other accounting software.
- Ability to effectively use cloud-based accounting tools and platforms to manage financial transactions and data.
- Excellent attention to detail, problem-solving skills, and the ability to work independently.
- Strong foundation in accounting principles and bookkeeping practices
- Strong ability to accurately and efficiently record financial transactions and manage large amounts of data.
- Excellent communication and organizational skills, remote collaboration, and teamwork.
- Experience in the outsourcing or BPO industry is a plus
- Ability to manage and train associates or other staff members.
- Can start ASAP and willing to work in the office (Matina, Davao City)
- Amenability to work in a US timezone crossover PH Time.
