Position Overview: As a Senior Power Electronics Applications Engineer, you'll lead the development and implementation of power electronics solutions for diverse applications.   1. Customer Engagement: Serve as a technical liaison between customers and internal teams, understanding customer requirements, providing technical support, and offering solutions to address application challenges.
  2. System Design: Lead the design and development of power electronics systems, including converters, inverters, motor drives, and energy storage systems, from concept to production, ensuring compliance with performance and reliability specifications.
  3. Application Analysis: Analyze customer applications, specifications, and constraints to identify optimal power electronics solutions, providing technical expertise and guidance throughout the product development lifecycle.
  4. Product Customization: Customize power electronics solutions to meet specific customer requirements, including hardware modifications, firmware customization, and system integration, collaborating with engineering teams to deliver tailored solutions.
  5. Technical Support: Provide pre-sales and post-sales technical support to customers, including product selection, system integration, troubleshooting, and optimization, ensuring customer satisfaction and success.
  6. Prototype Development: Lead the development and testing of prototypes and proof-of-concept designs, conducting performance evaluations, reliability testing, and validation to demonstrate product capabilities and suitability for customer applications.
  7. Design Review: Conduct design reviews and technical discussions with customers, internal teams, and partners to assess feasibility, mitigate risks, and optimize designs for performance, cost, and manufacturability.
  8. Documentation: Prepare and maintain detailed technical documentation, including application notes, design guidelines, test reports, and customer-facing materials, ensuring accuracy and clarity of technical information.
  9. Training and Education: Develop and deliver technical training sessions, workshops, and seminars for customers, sales teams, and partners, covering power electronics fundamentals, product features, and application best practices.
  10. Continuous Improvement: Stay abreast of industry trends, emerging technologies, and best practices in power electronics and related fields, and continuously seek opportunities to enhance skills, knowledge, and processes.
Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Electrical Engineering, Power Electronics, or related field.
  • 5+ years of experience in power electronics applications engineering, system-level design, or related roles, with a focus on power conversion systems and motor drives.
  • Strong technical expertise in power electronics principles, including converter topologies, semiconductor devices, magnetics design, and control techniques.
  • Experience with power electronics simulation and analysis tools such as PLECS, PSIM, or MATLAB/Simulink.
  • Proficiency in hardware design, including schematic capture, PCB layout, and prototyping, using tools such as Altium Designer or Cadence Allegro.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills, with the ability to analyze complex technical challenges, troubleshoot issues, and propose innovative solutions.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with customers, internal teams, and partners.
