Senior Engineer - Cost Management , GMA

Job Purpose: As a resource for Genuine Royal Enfield motorcycle Accessories in the role of Costing Incumbent. the role will encompass establishing costing norms for the GMA suppliers and setting target buying costs for GMA products. Key Responsibilities:

• Determine zero based cost working to set target costs during the development process and recommending cost effective solutions.
• Study of drawings to evaluate the manufacturing process to meet cost requirements for New / Current products
• Good knowledge on current price trend in Raw material like Aluminum, Stainless Steel, Mild Steel etc.,
• Establish cost estimates of production processes and tooling costs for the products.
• Assess cost effectiveness of products and arrive at the actual costs relative to transportation and packaging and ensure costs are in line with the target.
• Analyze supplier quotes and provide information and data, which aids communications with suppliers to achieve cost optimization.
• Support supplier meetings and negotiations to challenge quotation prices and aim for cost reductions to meet target costs.
• Progress on supplier cost sheet for approval.
• Agree costing norms with all the GMA suppliers.
• Data fetching from various sources for establishing strong costing structure.
• Knowledge on packaging optimization and provide packaging solutions.
• Source and develop alternate supply routes to improve Quality, Cost & Delivery.
• Support suppliers for developing VAVE suggestions for current parts to supplement cost down exercise.
• Monitor the Raw Material inflation / deflation in line with the market standards.
• Contribute to cost; formulate a reporting system and procedures to monitor the cost trends.
• Support all activities in cost estimating and take a proactive approach towards improvements
