Responsible for supporting production teams in their delivery of products and services by providing electrical support and assuming responsibility for the maintenance, troubleshooting, repair of all electronic, electrical and computer-based equipment including backups of all engineering related software in order to maintain uptime on all electronic machines while ensuring that costs are contained and minimised.
Main Objective
Take Shatterprufe forward and stay abreast of technology to keep Shatterprufe viable and competitive so as to improve efficiencies and ensuring that uptime is improved through proactive and preventive maintenance.
Assisting with Plant Engineering continuous improvement projects in compliance with SX safety standards and regulations and Engineering Best Practices so as to improve uptime on all machines and ensuring costs are contained and minimised.
Responsible for carrying out root cause analysis sessions on recurring problems of machine control systems with a multi-disciplined team to prepare fault finding logs/ tables from root cause problem solving and drive the implementation of the agreed upon changes and innovations.
Responsible for maintaining all software programmes and keep abreast of version changes and updates from OEM's or service providers so as reduce the impact of these changes while maintaining uptime and containing costs.
Provide customer support and education, working with users to identify needs, determine source of problem and to provide information on product use.
Ensure effective communication of relevant information to all stakeholders to support decision making for the business.
Critical job requirements
National Diploma in Electrical Engineering, Electronics or Mechatronics
Strong PLC/ Programming Source Coding (Visual Basics)
Drives and control systems
Experience in an automated industrial environment
3 years in an Automation environment
Experience in Engineering Best Practices
Experience in a manufacturing environment
Experience in an automated industrial environment
Knowledge and Skills
PLC (Preferably Allen Bradely)
Electronic drawing knowledge
Sever Exposure to Fanuc
Automation Control Systems
