  • Develop increased geometric design ability and quality within the function group.
  • Able to organise information well and communicate design intent through software tool output e.g. structure a drawing correctly and communicate design intent through drawing using CAD.
  • Draft technical reports of acceptable technical and presentational quality.
  • Provide technical solutions and develop an appreciation of outcomes.
  • Taking ownership and responsibility for their work and completing it in time and cost.  
  • Delegate tasks and responsibilities to appropriate personnel and check and take responsibility for the work of others.
  • Supervises a small team of Engineers/Technicians and ensures effective utilisation of team members.
  • Estimate the resources and participants needed to achieve project goals.
  • Set and continually manage project expectations with team members and other stakeholders.
  • Quality assurance throughout the project life cycle.
  • Ensure projects are completed on time and budget and manage all or sections of projects.
  • Good software tool understanding whilst working with minimum supervision to produce deliverables.
  • Understands the principles of the design process and how design is translated into deliverables through the use of software tools.
  • Able to present/represent their technical work as well as present service offerings to potential clients and present technical work at technical conferences.
  • Understands the key project issues and how these influence their work.
  • Submission of Expression of Interest EOIs, RFQs, tenders, and Proposals for the function and to provide input into large infrastructure projects as required.
  • Ability to check and inspect constructed works for compliance with design and specifications.
  • Work on multiple projects/contracts at the same time.
  • Build, develop, and grow any business relationships vital to the success of the project.
Recommended Qualifications, Skills, and Experience:
  • Bachelor of Engineering or B.Tech degree from an accredited University/University of Technology.
  • Professional registration with ECSA at least registration.
  • Minimum 5 years’ experience in geometric designs of roads and highways.
  • Proficiency in writing technical reports.
  • Strong geometric design skills.
  • Proficient in Civil 3D and AutoCAD.
  • Able to assist in writing reports.
  • Capable of developing and preparing geometric designs and drawings of roads and highways.
  • Skilled in concept, preliminary, and detailed designs of roads, streets, and highways.
  • Able to manage own time effectively.
  • Capable of calculating schedules of quantities.
  • Assists in tender documentation.
  • Demonstrates courteous and business-oriented manners in stakeholder communication to foster good relations.
  • Cooperative and flexible work style suitable for a team environment.
  • Familiarity with project financial management, including budgeting, forecasting, and invoicing.
  • Experience with Bentley MicroStation and Open Roads Design Software.
  • Interest and/or experience with BIM systems would be advantageous.
