Job title: Data analyst Role Type: Individual contributor Purpose of role The purpose this role as part of data warehouse and business intelligence solution team is to design, develop, and implement visually appealing and interactive reports and dashboards that enable users to gain insights into business data. Responsibilities
- Building the new BI solutions in close collaboration with the business stakeholders incl. requirement gathering, blueprint, development, testing, production release etc.
- Design, develop reports and dashboards: Responsible for designing and developing reports and dashboards of VA specific data to visualize data in a meaningful and insightful way.
- Data modeling: Creating data models that are perfected for reporting and analysis. Involves creating relationships between tables, defining calculated columns and measures, and implementing security and permissions.
- Data transformation: Extract, transform, and load data from various sources into Power BI. This may involve using tools such as Power Query to perform data cleansing and transformations.
- Integration : Integrating Power BI with other data sources such as SKF standard data warehouses, MDS, VA data warehouse, and cloud-based services.
- Maintenance and support: Responsible for maintaining and supporting existing reports and dashboards. Involves monitoring performance, troubleshooting issues, and making updates and modifications to existing reports.
- Technical metrics: Report accuracy for whole of VA BU, user adoption, report delivery time, and report performance
- Business metrics: data driven decision making, ROI on data investments, data security and compliance (including export control compliance), cross functional collaboration
- Expert knowledge in SQL Server (2016), SSIS and SSRS
- Experienced in Power BI backend development
- Knowledge in Web applications and web APIs in .NET.
- Programming skills in C#
- Experience with Source Control (GIT)
- Experience with Agile solution development
- Experience of combining cloud solutions (Azure and Snowflake in AWS) and On Premises solutions.
- Experience with Azure(primary)/AWS (secondary) development
- DBA type knowledge– Optimize platform performance
- Good to have – working experience with ERP systems (XA, SAP, M3 etc.), data related sales, supply chain data, manufacturing, working experience as data analyst in an engineering industry like SKF
- Bachelor’s Degree in computer science, Information technology or a related field
- 5 - 8 Years of overall experience with minimum four years of experience in Power BI
