Key Purpose

The Template Developer(Senior) must understand customer requirements for complextemplates. Testing and validating the solution against thecustomer requirements. Ensuring that the customer requirements aredelivered in the implemented solution. Translate the businessvision into the design. Interfacing between the customer, Testteam and the development team with regards to the customer andfunctional requirements. Working with multiple customer areas andmultiple teams that require deep integration of solutions. Involvescope that stretches across departmental boundaries, or whichscope impacts on multiple business areas. Building and maintainingstrong relationships with customers and acting as consultant onthe application.

The successfulcandidate will be required to perform but not limited to thefollowing key areas. Understand customer requirements. · Follow a structured process to listen to,understand and document customer requirements. If needed, facilitateactivities like interviews or JAD sessions to expand theunderstanding of the customer requirements. If required, performanalytical task by following up with customers to clear up ambiguityand possible misunderstanding. Ensuring alignment between thespecification and the developed template. · Conduct peer reviews of junior and intermediateTemplate Developer code.Obtain sign-offon developed templates.Update andcomplete tasks logged on the Trending document repository and Jiraproject board. · Review the code developed by Junior andIntermediate Template Developers. · Identify gaps, inconsistencies, and initiativesthat do not make sense within the bigger context of the businessunit's objectives and requirements. · Review the requirements against standards andestablished methodologies, policies and practices. · During go-live, perform live monitoring of thenew template. If required, make configuration settings/updates,version number changes or configuration changes to the template. · Conduct post go live check. · Review the approved specification. If required,revert . to customer or other stakeholders if technical issuesrequire business decisions in order to proceed. · Answer queries from the development team (E.g.Java development team). Explain the customer requirements. · Check that the solution is uploaded correctlyin Development environment. · Provide reporting to Team Leader / Dev Manageror Project Manager on project activities and status. Provide thecustomer as well as relevant team members with estimates of theduration of tasks. If required, conduct a Post Implementation Review (PIR).

Education and Experience

· Relevant IT degree level education (BCom, BScor National Diploma in information systems or computer science) · Matric with English and Mathematics · Experience with XML SPY, XSL - FO, HTML,Transform, XML Spy, Java · Strong experience in ITIL (Incident, Change,Release, Problem Management), CMMI, PCMM · Experience in SQL queries, entity diagram · Industry compliance standards and legislation · More than 5 years’ experience as a Template /Software Developer. Experienced in testing. Solid Cross Departmental experience. · Has relevant domain knowledge, businessexperience or product knowledge. Remuneration To startthis is 6 – 12 moths Fixed term contract, Monday to Friday in aHybrid working environment.
