Experience Level: Mid-Level (4-5 Years) to senior (5+ years of full time experience) Job Summary: MacMillan Design, a leader in custom WordPress website solutions for small businesses, is seeking a seasoned SEO Specialist with a comprehensive understanding of both local and organic/national SEO strategies. The ideal candidate will possess technical proficiency and a strategic mindset to enhance website visibility, drive meaningful traffic, and foster organic growth on a local and national scale. Key Responsibilities:

  • SEO Strategy Development: Devise and implement comprehensive SEO strategies, including local SEO tactics such as GMB optimization, NAP citations, alongside organic/national SEO initiatives.
  • Technical SEO and Analytics Proficiency: Conduct website audits and implement technical SEO best practices. Extensive experience with Google Analytics, Tag Manager, and Search Console to track performance and inform strategy adjustments.
  • Content Optimization: Collaborate with content creators to ensure SEO-friendly content that aligns with topic clusters and entity-based SEO principles. Optimize existing content to improve SERP rankings and user engagement.
  • Backlink Analysis and Strategy: Develop and execute backlink strategies. Monitor backlink profiles, identify high-quality link opportunities, and manage link-building campaigns.
  • Cross-Channel Marketing Synergy: Coordinate with the marketing team to ensure SEO strategies align with broader marketing initiatives, including but not limited to Google AdWords, AI prompting, and social media advertising.
Qualifications:
  • 4-5 years of SEO experience, with a strong emphasis on both local and organic/national SEO.
  • Profound knowledge of technical SEO, topic clusters, entities, and the significance of backlinks in SEO.
  • Expertise in WordPress, Google Docs, Microsoft Word, Google Sheets, and Microsoft Excel.
  • Extensive experience with Google Analytics, Tag Manager, and Search Console.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English.
  • Ability to analyze data, identify trends, and provide actionable insights.
  • Preferred: Knowledge of Google AdWords, AI prompting, and social media advertising.
