Strategic Buyer

Crane India has an opportunity for a Strategic Buyer at our Manufacturing site at Satara. This position is responsible for purchase activities for Castings, Forgings, Hardware, and fabrication parts required for Engineered Check Stream. Responsibilities

• Achieve department KPI which includes, Inventory, ITR, E&O, and Supplier OTD etc. Also drive continuous improvement activities like casting weight reduction, change in casting methods.
• Evaluate supplier evaluation and send suppliers score cards on monthly basis.
• Evaluate and act upon the Material Requirements Plan (MRP) for assigned commodities. Generate and adjust purchase orders and schedule letters to support production requirements.
• Interface with Quality, Manufacturing, Engineering, and Suppliers to resolve quality and/or delivery issues.
• Supporting Value Stream in Order Review Meetings and Backlog Project Tracker Reviews.

• B.E. in Mechanical / Production / Metallurgy Engineering.
• 4-8 years of experience in the Casting & Forging purchase activities. Exposure to Valve and Pump Industry is highly preferred.
• Knowledge of various materials like WCB, SS, Cast Iron, Ductile Iron, Inconel, Cobalt Alloy, etc.
• Required basic knowledge of Project Purchasing along with excellent negotiation skill.
• Instrumental in Excel and ERP (QAD) system.
• API Spec Q-1 knowledge
