Technical Director

OBJECTIVE

To champion the vision for all production at T he Church of Eleven22 and to provide central leadership to all c ampus p roduction staff and teams.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

• Maintain an authentic and growing walk with Jesus Christ through the ongoing spiritual disciplines of Bible reading, prayer, personal worship, fasting, confession and fellowship
• Oversee the functionality of all technical systems (audio, lighting, video) for regular weekend services and special events at the San Pablo campus ( w orship c enter, a uditorium A , B and C and o nline)
• Oversee weekly maintenance of all audio , lighting and video at the San Pablo campus ( w orship c enter, a uditorium A , B and C and o nline), including updating hardware, software and firmware
• Collaborate with the Worship Experience Pastor, in the technical processes of services in room at the San Pablo campus and online
• Oversee troubleshooting any technical problems leading up to service time
• Serve as needed in the execution of audio, lighting or video in services
• Ownership of equipment rental, tech riders, input list, lighting/stage design for all big momentum events (Easter, Saturated, Christmas Eve and one - off e vents) and weekend services
• Assist Lighting Director with install/creation timeline of stage designs, lighting design and stage plots
• Knowledge of processes and routing of all audio , lighting and video in - room, online and how it is being streamed to other c ampuses
• Assist the Live Video Director with all maintenance of necessary systems for audio/video playback from CG, Ableton, Arena, K2 and Tria
• Ownership of all wireless mics and in ears (RF coordination and maintenance)
• Regularly check in with all campuses to ensure the streamed campus experience accomplishes the overall experience vision and is in alignment with our staff code of conduct of “excellence without excess”
• Understand all technical systems at the San Pablo campus and remote campuses to ensure the ability to quickly troubleshoot and resolve potential issues
• Hiring and onboarding Campus P roduction D irectors
• Serve as the C entral P roduction D irector for all campuses, leading team meetings and casting vision
• Run and manage production budgets
• Attend All Staff meetings and functions
• Other duties as needed

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE

• Technical proficiency – audio, video and lighting
• Skilled in organization, administration and interpersonal relationships
• Proficient in Microsoft Office and Planning Center Online programs
• Two years’ experience in production
• Intermediate MAC and PC proficiency
• Basic understanding of lighting and audio consoles
• Familiarity with pre-visualization, waves, S maar t software
• Familiarity with computer software like ProPresenter is preferred, but not required
• Relational and team-building skills required

POSITION TYPE/EXPECTED HOURS OF WORK

This is a full-time, exempt position. Days and hours of work may vary based on church need. The church has several big events, (“All-Skates”) throughout the year to help further the mission of Eleven22. These events are mandatory for all staff to be in attendance and may vary, depending on the vision cast for the current year. Our entire staff family is called to action, so that we can continue to be a movement for all people to discover and deepen a relationship with Jesus Christ.

WORK ENVIRONMENT

This job operates in a professional office environment and in an auditorium stage environment . This role routinely uses standard office and production equipment such as computers, phones, photocopiers, filing cabinets and fax machines. Some travel to offsite campuses and correctional facilities may be required for meetings and events.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS

This role would require the ability to lift and carry equipment of up to 75 pounds and bend or stand as necessary. Must be able to work safely at heights above stages and auditoriums.

MINISTERIAL EXCEPTION

The ministerial exception furthers the purposes of the Free Exercise and Establishment Clauses of the First Amendment by barring legal claims against church bodies by staff members who perform religious functions. All c hurch pastors are subject to the exception, but a formal ministerial credential is not required. While there is no rigid formula to determine other c hurch staff members that qualify, various factors are considered to determine which staff members are subject to the ministerial exception (please see handbook). Staff members who qualify under the ministerial exception are not covered by federal and state employment and anti-discrimination laws.
