About the Role   As a Software Engineer, you’ll perform research, design, and software development assignments within a specific software or product line.   Responsibilities   Writing and reviewing portions of detailed specifications for the development of system components of moderate complexity. Working closely with other development team members to understand moderately complex product requirements and translate them into software designs. Operating in various development environments (Agile, Waterfall, etc.) while collaborating with key stakeholders. Resolving technical issues and completing bug fixes, as necessary. Keeping abreast of new technology developments. Requirements   Have previous experience in software engineering Have a degree in Engineering/Computer Science or equivalent experience Have experience or familiarity of data modeling principles Show a proficiency with data manipulation languages Display an ability to work with simple data models Have experience in development languages including but not limited to: Java/J2EE, JSP, XML, SQL Show the ability to write and review portions of detailed specifications for the development of system components of moderate complexity. Have knowledge of software development methodologies (e.g., Agile, Waterfall), data storage subsystems, and test driven development Have experience in AWS, Kubernetes, Lucene, Solr or Elasticsearch is highly desirable Work in a way that works for you   We promote a healthy work/life balance across the organisation.
