Civil Engineering Instructor - Engineering Materials, Material and Soil Mechanics

Job Description: As a Civil Engineering Instructor specializing in Engineering Materials, Material Mechanics, and Soil Mechanics, you will be responsible for delivering comprehensive instruction on fundamental concepts in these areas. Your role will involve equipping students with a strong understanding of engineering materials, their properties, and their applications in civil engineering projects, as well as material mechanics and soil mechanics principles and their relevance to structural analysis and geotechnical engineering. Job Responsibilities: • Conduct engaging lectures and interactive sessions on engineering materials, material mechanics, and soil mechanics fundamentals. • Explain complex concepts clearly and accurately, catering to varying levels of expertise among students. • Cover key principles and theories in engineering materials, including properties, testing methods, and selection criteria for different applications. • Integrate material mechanics principles into structural analysis, including different forces, stress-strain relationships, material behavior, and failure mechanisms. • Provide practical demonstrations and guidance in material testing techniques, construction materials, and quality control processes. • Deliver core concepts in soil mechanism including soil composition, soil compaction and interaction of soil with different forces and pressure. • Illustrate practical applications of soil mechanics principles and provide guidance in geotechnical engineering projects • Provide guidance and support to students, addressing questions and clarifying doubts effectively. • Assess student progress through assignments, quizzes, and other evaluation methods. • Stay updated on the latest advancements and trends in civil engineering materials, soil mechanics, and material mechanics research and technology. • Conduct remote synchronous/asynchronous lessons through video conferencing tools or online platforms if necessary. Requirements: • Degree in Civil Engineering or related field. • Strong understanding of engineering materials, material mechanics, and soil mechanics concepts and applications. • Excellent field of knowledge on materials, forces, soil and their interactions. • Practical experience in material testing techniques, construction materials, structural analysis and soil mechanics principles. • Familiarity with relevant civil engineering software, tools, and resources. • Working experience in the civil engineering field is highly preferred. • Previous teaching or training experience is preferred but not required.
