Buyer My client, a leading pharmaceuticals manufacturer is looking to recruit a Buyer. As a Buyer you will play a crucial role in ensuring the consistent supply of essential raw material for the production operation. You will be responsible for managing supplier relationships, optimizing costs, and ensuring the highest quality standards. Responsibilities:
- Purchase assigned raw material from approved suppliers per agreed purchasing policies and procedures ensuring consistent supply of materials to support production.
- Maintain proper inventory level of raw materials to meet production while supporting effective inventory management and control.
- Engage with all relevant stakeholders to resolve supply issues and concerns.
- Ensure that supplier and material master data is maintained and kept up to date to ensure the integrity of the Purchasing and Planning processes.
- Collaborate with Suppliers to forecast Supply plans, negotiate pricing terms, order planning and delivery schedules.
- Manage supplier relationships, support supplier development, execute supplier continuous improvement process, expedite late and critical purchase order and monitor supplier performance results.
- Research and evaluate suppliers based on price, quality, service, reliability, production and distribution capacity and capabilities.
- Advise the business of industry competitive situations, alternate supply sources, raw material commodity price trends and supply / demand situations which may impact the business.
- Manage relevant change controls, deviations, CAPA’s etc. to meet the requirements of the Quality management system.
- Collaborate with Project managers and stakeholders to understand project needs and timelines, ensuring timely procurement.
- Demonstrate a strong commitment to teamwork and Quality system requirements.
- Perform other duties as required to support projects and customer expectations.
- Bachelor’s degree in business, Procurement, Supply Chain Management or a related discipline (QQI Level 8)
- Minimum 5 years Purchasing / Supply Chain experience, Pharma or Medical Device industry is preferred.
- Experience working in a highly regulated field according to standards/regulatory requirements and under a quality management system.
- Experience in vendor management.
- APICS/CPIM certification or equivalent is an advantage.
- Experience in change management.
- Experience of ERP systems required.
- Excellent communication skills.
- Strong negotiation skills.
- A high level of accuracy and attention to detail.
- Strong working knowledge of Supply Chain Management principles such as MRP and Inventory planning and control.
