As a QA Lead Engineer at ItsaCheckmate, you will be at the helm of our quality assurance efforts, working closely with our development team to ensure the reliability and performance of our applications. Our tech stack includes Ruby on Rails and Rspec, leveraging Capybara/Selenium for automated Rspec system tests. You will lead a small but crucial team of four other team members, with the potential to grow this team under your guidance. Key Responsibilities :

  • Design, develop, and execute automation scripts using Rspec, Capybara, and Selenium.
  • Lead the QA automation strategy, including framework selection, tool integration, and best practices.
  • Work closely with development teams to integrate automated tests into the CI/CD pipeline.
  • Identify, record, document thoroughly, and track bugs.
  • Perform thorough regression testing when bugs are resolved.
  • Develop and apply testing processes for new and existing products to meet client needs.
  • Liaise with internal teams (e.g., developers and product managers) to identify system requirements.
  • Monitor debugging process results.
  • Stay up-to-date with new testing tools and test strategies.
  • Mentor and support other team members with the opportunity to grow and manage the QA team.
Requirements :
  • Proven experience as a QA tester or similar role.
  • Expertise in automated testing tools, specifically Rspec, Capybara, and Selenium.
  • Experience with Ruby on Rails.
  • Familiarity with software QA methodologies, tools, and processes.
  • Experience in writing clear, concise, and comprehensive test plans and test cases.
  • Hands-on experience with both white box and black box testing.
  • Experience with continuous integration.
  • Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
  • Attention to detail and problem-solving skills.
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent work experience.
  • Candidates must have flexibility to work during US hours at least till 2 pm ET time zone in the USA is essential for this role and their own system/work setup for remote work.
