Manage Manufacturing toolrooms for execution of turning work
Oversee planning, scheduling and distribution of turning work
Compile BOMs for ordering of material and equipment
Provide design review inputs for effecient turning activities
Coordinate and allocate work to Turner machinists in accordance with directions on priority work
Ensure work activities integration with other departments ie. Electrical, Boilmermaking
Oversee the assembly of tooling wrt fabricated tooling
Assist subordinates with training on lathe and milling machines operations
Plan departmental budget for buying of spares and tools
Provide work progress updates as prescribed to the departmental Executive Manager
Ensure maintenance of machines and serviceability
WHAT QUALIFICATIONS YOU SHOULD HAVE
Grade 12/N3 qualification in Engineering or equivalent
Diploma in Mechanical Engineering would be advantageous.
Trade Test as a Turner/ Fitter & Turner.
At least 10 years' experience in conventional Milling machines as an operator & setter.
At least 10 years' experience in CNC milling\turning Machines (fanuc controls).
At least 10 years' experience in the use of conventional lathe.
Knowledge of SAP.
CNC programming knowledge and experience will be advantageous.
CNC competency certificate will be advantageous.
Knowledge of Edge cam software will be advantageous.
An in-depth understanding and working knowledge of the manufacturing environment.
Contract/contractor management knowledge and skills.
Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings.
Experience in planning and implementation of work activities.
Good understanding of the explosive environment regulations.
Interpersonal skills and ability to effectively collaborate with multiple disciplines both internally and externally.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
Computer literacy: MS Packages.
