- Reporting to the VP of Mountain Operations, this position is responsible for all lift maintenance department functions including effective management of personnel, employee safety programs, financial performance, project planning, and company policies and procedures.
- Oversees training and development of personnel.
- Coordinates scheduling and execution of maintenance activities
- Responsible for financial planning and analysis including forecasting.
- Monitors equipment to evaluate departmental effectiveness.
- Establishes and documents maintenance procedures.
- Ensure compliance in all regulated functions, including Colorado Passenger Transportation Safety Board, U.S. Forest Service, ANSI, OSHA, and other safety regulations and policies.
- Participate in company safety committee and provide follow up of safety suggestions related to lift maintenance.
- Tracks industry trends and rules and regulations
- Other duties as assigned
- General computer skills
- Minimum of 5 years as a lift mechanic or lift electrician.
- Experience supervising others.
- A thorough knowledge of ski lift systems and what it takes to properly maintain them in optimum running condition
- Knowledge of lift construction and project management
- Must possess time management and scheduling skills, as well as personnel selection to optimize opportunities for employee development and performance.
- Knowledge of the current Rules and Regulations as published by the Colorado Passenger Transportatoin Safety Board, and ANSI B77.1
- Knowledge of OSHA general industry standards
- High school diploma/GED required.
- Ability to sit and operate keyboard for long periods of time.
- Ability to lift and carry 70 lbs. on a frequent basis.
- Ability to safety operate a snowmobile in severe weather conditions.
- Ability to walk, bend over, carry items on uneven terrain often in inclement weather conditions.
- Must be able to climb lift towers at elevated heights.
