Employer Description Luxury safari Lodge situated in Tanzania Job Description My client is looking for a dynamic and experienced manager / management couple to oversee the operations of a luxury safari lodge. As the manager / management couple, you will be responsible for ensuring the smooth and efficient functioning of all aspects of the lodge, providing exceptional guest experiences, and maintaining high standards of service. This is a hands-on role that requires strong leadership, organizational, and interpersonal skills.

  1. Guest Experience:
  • Create a welcoming and hospitable atmosphere for guests, ensuring their needs are met and exceeding their expectations.
  • Coordinate and manage guest reservations, check-ins, and check-outs.
  • Handle guest inquiries, complaints, and special requests with professionalism and attentiveness.
  1. Lodge Operations:
  • Oversee all operational aspects of the lodge, including accommodations, dining, activities, and amenities.
  • Ensure cleanliness, maintenance, and upkeep of all lodge facilities, rooms, and common areas.
  • Coordinate with the maintenance team to address any repairs or issues promptly.
  1. Staff Management:
  • Recruit, train, and manage lodge staff, including front desk, housekeeping, kitchen, and activity teams.
  • Foster a positive work environment, provide guidance, and conduct regular performance evaluations.
  1. Financial Management:
  • Monitor and manage lodge budgets, expenses, and revenue to achieve financial targets.
  • Implement cost-effective measures without compromising on guest satisfaction.
  1. Food and Beverage:
  • Oversee the food and beverage operations, ensuring high-quality dining experiences.
  • Collaborate with the kitchen team to design menus that cater to diverse guest preferences.
  • Being a chef would be an added advantage.
  1. Safety and Compliance:
  • Implement safety protocols and standards to ensure the well-being of guests and staff.
  • Ensure compliance with health, safety, and environmental regulations.
  1. Marketing and Promotion:
  • Collaborate with the marketing team to promote the lodge and attract guests.
  • Participate in promotional activities and maintain an active presence on social media.
  1. Environmental Stewardship:
  • Promote eco-friendly practices and sustainability initiatives in lodge operations.
  • Raise awareness among staff and guests about preserving the local environment and wildlife.
  1. Reporting:
  • Prepare regular reports for the lodge owners or management company on operations, financials, and guest feedback.
  1. Relationship Building:
  • Develop and maintain positive relationships with local suppliers, tour operators, and community members.
Qualifications Tertiary qualification in Business Management / Administration or Hospitality. Skills Previous experience in hospitality management, preferably in a safari lodge or remote luxury resort setting. Strong leadership and communication skills, with the ability to motivate and manage a diverse team. Excellent organizational and problem-solving abilities. A passion for providing exceptional guest experiences. Knowledge of wildlife, local culture, and the safari experience is a plus. Ability to adapt to remote living conditions and work in a challenging environment. Proficiency in relevant software for reservations, reporting, and communication Salary / Package Paid in US Dollars Benefits Performance-based incentives. On-site accommodation and meals - suitable for a single person or a couple - unfortunately the lodge cannot accommodate children or pets. 1 return ticket once a year along with annual leave. Costs toward the VISA will be covered by the company. 2 year fixed term contract.
