Mathematics Educator

Purpose of This Job

To support our Production & Education team in the development of high-school level Mathematics blended learning content for our various educational offerings, and the teaching and delivery of lessons to learners.

Desired Results

Develop new Mathematics blended learning contentContribute to the maintenance of our existing online and printed learning content materialsDelivery of in-person and online live lessonsReport data is accurately captured to enable accurate reporting & helpful changes to processes and products

Skills, Competencies and Qualifications

5 or more years of high school Mathematics teaching or tutoring experienceExcel in classroom teaching contextsBe an expert in Core Mathematics and AP Mathematics or an expert in Mathematics up to A-levels for the UK curriculumHold a diploma in Education or a Mathematics-oriented degreeAbility and willingness to work across subject domains, particularly within the STEM subjects (Science, Technology, Engineering, Mathematics)Sound understanding of learning design principles, strategies of online learning and commonly used digital learning components for teaching and assessmentConfidence in managing digital learning resources and navigating online learning management systemsExcellent computer literacy and document processing skills, particularly using (but not limited to) Microsoft Word and Google SuiteExperience teaching, tutoring or supporting the delivery of live online lessonsUnderstanding and application of basic User Experience Design principles as they relate to online learning content developmentWilling to constantly learn and improve on teaching abilityAbility to work collaboratively and communicate effectively and proactively in a team environmentAnalytical and proactive problem-solving skillsAbility to adapt to change and innovation readily and effectivelyOrganisedSelf-motivatedDetail-orientedFriendly, empathetic and patientGood command of English both spoken and written

Key Responsibilities

Content development

Adhere to quality standards and sound learning design principles to develop engaging and effective Mathematics blended learning contentWork effectively with other subject matter experts and lead junior team members in Mathematics content developmentUse digital content development tools and content management systems such as Microsoft Word, Adobe Suite, Vimeo, Zoom, Google Suite and our own LMSMaintain and improve existing print and online learning content Work with the broader team to ensure a streamlined user experience of learning content on the LMS

Lesson preparationLesson deliveryAssessment, marking & feedback delivery to learnersEngagement with parents around learners’ progress when necessaryCollaboration with our Production & Education team and Operations team to maintain and improve the quality of lesson deliveryBasic administrative tasks related to lesson delivery
